FFL Transfer Information & Purchasing Policy

Effective Date: December 15, 2025

Purchasing a firearm online is a straightforward process, but it requires adherence to strict federal, state, and local laws. All firearms must be shipped to a Licensed Federal Firearm License (FFL) holder in your state, where you will complete the necessary background check and transfer paperwork.

This page provides you with all the information you need to successfully complete your firearm purchase from glockretailers.com .

1. The FFL Transfer Process: 3 Simple Steps

Step 1: Place Your Order

  1. Add the Firearm(s) to your cart and proceed to checkout.

  2. Provide Your Billing/Shipping Address (this must be your actual residential address).

  3. Complete Payment for your order.

Step 2: Select Your FFL Dealer

After placing your order, you must designate a licensed FFL dealer to receive the firearm.

  1. Find a Local Dealer: Locate a dealer in your area (eg, gun store, pawn shop) who is willing to accept the transfer.

  2. Confirm the Transfer: Contact your chosen dealer and inform them you have purchased a firearm from Glock Retailers (glockretailers.com) and that we will be contacting them to request their FFL license copy.

  3. Provide FFL Details to Us: During checkout, or immediately after placing your order, provide us with your dealer’s name, phone number, or email address. We will handle the necessary FFL verification.

Step 3: Wait for Shipment and Complete the Transfer

  1. Verification and Shipment: Once we have verified the FFL dealer’s license, we will ship your firearm to their address.

  2. Notification: Your FFL dealer will contact you when the firearm arrives and is logged into their inventory.

  3. Final Transfer: Visit your FFL dealer’s location. You will need to present a valid government-issued ID and fill out the ATF Form 4473. Upon successfully passing the required background check (NICS), the firearm will be legally transferred to you.

2. Important Buyer Compliance Requirements

By placing an order for a firearm, you certify that you meet all of the following:

A. Age Requirements

  • You are 21 years of age or older to purchase any handgun, stripped receiver, or certain other restricted firearms.

  • You are 18 years of age or older to purchase any long gun (rifle/shotgun), where applicable.

B. Legal Eligibility

  • You are not a Prohibited Person under the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA) or other relevant federal or state laws.

  • You are legally permitted to own the firearm in your place of residence.

C. Inspection Requirement (CRITICAL)

You must inspect the firearm thoroughly at your FFL dealer BEFORE completing the ATF Form 4473.

  • If you find any damage, defects, or notice that the item does not match your order, DO NOT complete the transfer. Have the dealer contact us immediately at +1 (479) 437-7189 .

  • Once you complete and sign the ATF Form 4473 and take possession of the firearm, it is legally considered used. It cannot be returned to Glock Retailers. Any issues discovered after acceptance must be addressed under the manufacturer’s warranty.

D. Local Law Compliance

  • YOU are responsible for knowing and complying with all local laws regarding magazine capacity, feature restrictions (eg, certain “assault weapon” features), and specific model restrictions.

  • If you purchase a firearm or accessory that is illegal in your area, and the FFL dealer cannot legally transfer it, the order will be treated as a Failed Transfer (see Section 4).

3. FFL Submission Instructions for Dealers
